Hardy water lilies potted in 10" pots and ready to be dropped into your pond are available all season. As long as the crown of the plant is a few inches below any possible ice line they will survive the winter perfectly well, ready to sprout new foliage in the spring. The named varieties that we have available come in a variety of colors, flower forms and ultimate plant size (small, medium or large growing). Please remember that water lilies require several hour of direct sunlight to bloom, with a minimum of 4 hours. More sun equals more blooms.
OTHER WATER PLANTS
There is a huge variety of water plants waiting for your selection, indeed our most commonly heard complaint is that there is too much to look at. We have submerged oxygenators, floating water hyacinth and water lettuce, and dozens of marginals, those plants for along the edges which may required only damp soil or up to 18 inches of water over their growing point depending on the variety. Most of our marginals are hardy when grown at the proper depth but we also offer the semi-tropical taro and water canna which are easily over-wintered dormant in your garage. We can advise you on the care of your selections.
